- Welcome back!
- Second semester pre-test (grades will show as "excluded from final grade")
- Chapter 10 PowerPoint and Chapter 10 Notes - Igneous Rocks
- If time, briefly go over Graphic Organizer Project
- Chapter 10 PowerPoint & Chapter 10 Notes - Finish Igneous and Begin Sedimentary Rocks
- Work on Graphic Organizer
- Igneous must include (1) Grain size - intrusive/coarse and extrusive/fine, (2) Exceptions - obsidian/no crystals and pumice + scoria/porous, and (3) Composition - felsic, intermediate, and mafic.
- Chapter 10 PowerPoint and Chapter 10 Notes - Finish Sedimentary Rocks and Metamorphic Rocks
- Work on Graphic Organizer
- Sedimentary must include (1) Clastic Rocks - gravel-sized Conglomerate and Breccia, sand-sized sandstone, and clay-sized shale, (2) Chemical Rocks - with a precipitation example like travertine or calcitic limestone and an evaporation example like halite or gypsum, and (3) Organic Rocks - with at least one example from your notes.
- Metamorphic must include (1) Types of Formation - contact metamorphism and regional metamorphism, and (2) Types of Rock - Foliated (with an example) and Nonfoliated (with an example).

1/16 TUESDAY and 1/17 WEDNESDAY
- Finish Notes (if needed)
- IGNEOUS Lab - Mr. Young's webpage has pictures and descriptions of each type of rock to prepare you for the lab/sample portion of next week's Chapter 10 Test. If you missed lab, you will be excused. I would suggest coming in on your own time to practice with the various rock samples to ensure that you will do well on next week's test.
- Work on Graphic Organizer (must be complete by Friday), but will be turned in on Monday.
1/18 THURSDAY
- SEDIMENTARY Lab - Mr. Young's webpage has pictures and descriptions of each type of rock to prepare you for the lab/sample portion of next week's Chapter 10 Test. If you missed lab, you will be excused. I would suggest coming in on your own time to practice with the various rock samples to ensure that you will do well on next week's test.

- METAMORPHIC Lab - Mr. Young's webpage has pictures and descriptions of each type of rock to prepare you for the lab/sample portion of next week's Chapter 10 Test. If you missed lab, you will be excused. I would suggest coming in on your own time to practice with the various rock samples to ensure that you will do well on next week's test.
- Chapter 10 Review - Due the day of the test - next block day (1/23-1/24).
1/22 MONDAY
- Grade Chapter 10 Review - Turn in tomorrow on the day of the test (1/23-1/24)
